Large print Word Search, with no dragging
Most word search puzzles ask you to drag a finger or a mouse across the letters in a perfectly straight line. That is hard for anyone with an unsteady hand, arthritis or a tremor, and one slip ruins the attempt. Here you never drag. You tap the first letter of a word, and then you tap its last letter. If the letters between them spell one of the words in your list, the word lights up and is crossed off. If not, nothing is lost and you simply try again.
The letters are big and bold, and you can enlarge them further with the A+ button at the top of the page. The board always fits your screen, so there is no sideways scrolling to find the corner you need. A tap that lands just outside a letter still counts for the nearest one, and every found word gets a frame as well as a colour, so it can be seen in all three themes, including the high-contrast dark one.
Five themes, three levels
Choose from Nostalgia and Heritage, Nature and Gardening, Geography, Comfort Foods, or Mindful Wellness. Each theme has three levels, and Easy is the level that is free every day, in the Nostalgia and Heritage theme; members will be able to play every theme at every level. Easy is a small 8 by 8 grid with six words, and every word runs left to right or top to bottom, just as you read. Medium is a 9 by 9 grid with eight words, some of them running backwards or upwards. Hard is a 10 by 10 grid with ten words, and some of them run diagonally. Every list is checked so that each word appears in the grid exactly once, and there are no accidental duplicates to confuse you.
Hints, saving and streaks
If you are stuck, press Hint once to see where the next word begins, and press it again to see the whole word. Hints are always your choice, and they only affect the stars you earn: three stars for none, two for one or two, and one for more. The timer counts up, never down, and it can be hidden with Zen Mode. Your progress is saved on your own device after every word, so you can stop at any time and pick up where you left off. Free players keep their progress on their own device; members also get a daily streak, and their scores and history on every device.
